We encourage clients to seek legal advice at all stages of the mediation process, so they feel more confident and have peace mind when considering options, as well as ensuring clients in mediation make informed decisions with the benefit of advice from their solicitor.
We also emphasise to clients the importance of consulting with their solicitor if both parties wish their proposals to become legally binding and will need formal documentation to be drafted such as a separation agreement or a consent order.
Where clients come to mediation without the benefit of legal advice we can supply our clients with details of specialist family law solicitors who encourage a conciliatory rather than an adversarial approach and who are fully supportive of mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
We offer legal aid for family mediation on all issues: children, finance and property.
